Skippers and crew
Skippers, deckhands, stewards and cooks
How will Endless Blue choose the right crew for me?
The first step to we take is that we ask our guests to communicate with us openly about the kind of skipper and crew they want with them on their vacation.
Some clients like a skipper who will snorkel with them, eat with them, offer local knowledge on the islands and generally become part of the fun. Other clients view their sailing vacation as special time with family or friends and prefer their skipper to keep a discreet distance.
We cannot guarantee that we will find exactly what you are looking for but we will definitely do our best to suit your request.
What are your skippers crew like – do they only speak Greek?
We have various personalities that suit all everyone so it really depends what you are looking for.
All our skippers speak Greek and English at least. Some speak French, Italian, Arabic and Spanish.
Are the crew Endless Blue employees?
Crewing a vessel is a seasonal occupation. All our skippers and stewards are summer contractors, some have worked for us many summers in a row and others not so many.
Most of our crew sail the summer season in Greece and then move on to the Carribean or Australia for more summer sailing.
How many hours a day is the skipper allowed to sail?
Your skipper can typically sail 4-6 hours per day. He also has autopilot to use as a variation. We encourage our skippers to keep sailing to a maximum of 6 hours per day so that they are fresh and alert for each day of sailing.
Can I practice sailing even with a skipper on board?
Of course, we can design a program for you where you enjoy your vacation and learn a few
things about sailing too. We even offer a certificate from Endless Blue saying that you
participated in the sailing duties of the charter.
